How Oahu Standby collects SMS opt-in consent
This page documents the SMS opt-in disclosure shown to every user of oahustandby.com during booking setup. Text messages are sent by Oahu Standby LLC from toll-free number +1 (888) 890-5682. Messages are one-way, transactional notifications about the user's own DMV booking — never marketing.
Where consent happens
Consent is collected on the web, in step 4 of the booking flow, through a separate checkbox that is unchecked by default and optional. It is never pre-checked and never required: users can complete their booking without opting in, and every booking update is also sent by email either way. Only users who check the box receive text messages.
The mobile-number field above it is part of the booking itself (the DMV requires a phone number on the appointment) and is confirmed with a one-time passcode. Entering a number does not opt the user in to text messages; only the checkbox does. The exact text the user agreed to and the time they agreed are stored with their account, and unchecking the box removes their consent.
